The Summit on Stepfamily Ministry is a 2-day experience to help equip ministry leaders like you to minister to blended families.
If you want to be a catalyst and effect change in your church and community come join a growing movement of leaders ministering to stepfamilies. Whether you are brand new to blended family ministry or you have been doing it for years, this event will encourage and equip you.
The 2019 Summit in Chesapeake, VA will be October 24-25. The theme for this year's event is Stepfamilies in Crisis.
This is the only event geared toward equipping the church to minister to stepfamilies; a significant percentage of communities and churches.
For two days the Summit brings together well-known ministries, experts, counselors, pastors, worship leaders, and lay leaders to network, share best practices, and call the church to prevent redivorce, strengthen stepfamilies, and break the generational cycle of divorce.
Cost is $119 for one person or $99 per person for two or more people.
Summit Immerse is a half-day deep-dive with Ron L. Deal and other experts. This year's Summit Immerse will be held on Wednesday, October 23rd from 1:30-5:00 PM at Community Church.
Cost is $25 per person and can be added on to your Summit registration.
This year's theme is Avoiding a Crisis: Money Management in Blended Families
Money issues are a frequent source of conflict in all marriages. Blended families are a monetary minefield including debt from previous relationships, between-home expense disagreements, boundary issues with boomerang adult children, changes in parental decision-making after forming a stepfamily, and questions about beneficiaries, bank accounts, estate planning, paying for college, social security, and managing day-to-day expenses. All of these (and more) can divide fragile blended family marriages. Summit Immerse will equip you, instead, to help couples "finance togetherness" before or after their wedding. Based on their soon to be released book The Smart Stepfamily Guide to Financial Planning, coauthors Ron Deal, Greg Pettys, and David Edwards will walk you through the unique aspects of blended family finances so you can point couples in the right direction. Learn how to help couples merge their financial realities, protect their marriage, and avoid a crisis.
